Anderson LRT Station Structural Footing Pad

Project Type: Civil
Location: Southwood, Calgary, AB
Services: Saw cut, excavation, mud pit forming and pour, structural footing pad pour
Timeline: Four days

  • Pittman Concrete remediated a failed structural footing pad at Calgary's Anderson LRT Station.
  • Full scope, including saw cut, excavation, mud pit, and structural pour, was completed in four days.
  • Work was executed to engineering specifications that the previous contractor failed to meet.

The Project

When a structural footing pad at Anderson LRT Station in Calgary failed to meet engineering requirements, Pittman Concrete was brought in to fix it. The previous contractor's work hadn't held up to spec. Pittman Concrete completed the full repair scope in four days, from initial inspection through to final pour.

The Challenge

Pittman Concrete was stepping in to remediate failed work, which meant we needed to understand exactly where the previous scope fell short, meet the engineering specifications the original contractor hadn't achieved, and execute a precise, multi-phase repair on an active public infrastructure site. Every phase had to be completed correctly and in sequence, with no margin for further error.

The Scope

Day 1

Saw Cut & Excavation

Concrete was saw cut and the area excavated to expose the failed footing and prepare the site for remediation. Careful excavation ensured the surrounding structure was protected throughout.

Day 2

Mud Pit Form & Pour

The mud pit was formed and poured, establishing the clean, stable base required before the structural footing pad could be completed to engineering specifications.

Day 3

Structural Footing Pad Pour

The final structural footing pad was formed and poured to meet the full engineering requirements that the original contractor had failed to achieve. Work was executed in direct coordination with engineering specifications throughout.

The Result

A fully remediated structural footing pad at Anderson LRT Station was completed to engineering specification in four days. Pittman Concrete resolved previous errors cleanly, on schedule, and to the standard a public infrastructure project demands.

Scope Delivered

  • Saw cut and full excavation of failed footing area
  • Mud pit forming and pour
  • Structural footing pad formed and poured to engineering specification
  • Full project completion in four days from inspection to completion
