Concrete Services for Residential Projects

Your home is one of the most significant investments you'll ever make. Your concrete driveway, patio, retaining walls, and garage pads should reflect that. Done well, it adds lasting value and functionality to your property for decades. Done poorly, it becomes a costly problem that affects everything built around it.

Pittman Concrete brings four decades of experience to residential concrete projects across Calgary to deliver work that gives you a finished space you're proud to come home to.

  • Pittman Concrete delivers large-scale residential concrete across Calgary and nearby acreage properties.
  • Services include concrete driveways, patios, garage pads, retaining walls, and basement slabs.
  • Every pour is built on proper preparation, quality materials, and finishes that last.

Residential Concrete Services

Driveways

Your driveway is the first thing people see when they drive up to your home. Pittman Concrete lays out driveways that make a strong first impression. They hold on to that standard year after year through Calgary's demanding freeze-thaw cycles. From straightforward replacements to large custom approaches, we deliver a finished product with proper subgrade preparation and quality materials.

Patios & Outdoor Living Spaces

A well-built patio transforms how you use your outdoor space. We work with homeowners and home developers to design and pour patios that complement the scale and style of their home. Your patio is built by Pittman Concrete to withstand the elements and enjoy for years to come.

Garage Pads & Slabs

Whether you're building new or replacing an existing slab, a garage pad that’s poured properly protects your vehicles, your tools, and the structure above it. We build to the right specifications the first time, so you're not dealing with cracking or settling down the road.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls serve an important structural purpose. Pittman Concrete designs and constructs retaining walls that manage grade changes, prevent erosion, and integrate seamlessly with your property. For projects requiring engineered drawings, we coordinate directly with engineers so nothing is left to chance.

Basement Slabs & Foundations

The concrete beneath your home supports everything above it. We bring the same level of detail to below-grade work as we do to every other pour because what's underground matters just as much as what you see.

Walkout Stairwells & Steps

Steps and stairwells are high-traffic elements. We ensure that steps and walkout stairwells can withstand wear and tear, are thoughtfully integrated to match the finish of the surrounding concrete.

Concrete Finishes

The right concrete finish elevates the final look of your construction project and reflects the character of your home. Pittman Concrete offers a full range of finish options.

Our team will walk you through finish options based on your home, surroundings, and functionality goals, so the final result feels intentional.

Exposed Aggregate

A durable, textured finish that adds visual interest and works well alongside existing stonework or landscaping.

STAMPED CONCRETE

Custom patterns and textures that bring a distinctive look to driveways, patios, and walkways.

Broom Finish

A clean, classic finish that provides traction and suits a wide range of residential applications.

Epoxy

A durable, high-performance finish ideal for garage floors, basement slabs, and other interior concrete surfaces. Epoxy creates a seamless, easy-to-clean surface that resists staining, moisture, and wear. Epoxy delivers a polished, finished look that holds up under heavy use for years.

Ready for Projects That Demand More

Large-scale residential concrete requires a contractor who understands the full construction picture, not just the pour itself. Pittman Concrete coordinates with other trades and manages site logistics professionally.

When your project has multiple concrete elements, complex grade changes, engineered requirements, or tight sequencing with other trades, that depth of experience makes the difference.

Why Homeowners Choose Pittman Concrete

Four Decades of Hands-On Experience

John Pittman, our team lead, has spent four decades working across concrete, home building, general construction, and project management. That breadth of experience means we understand your project from every angle and how it fits into the full construction picture.

Work That Lasts

Your concrete components are built on proper subgrade compaction, rebar reinforcement where needed, and quality materials. The shortcuts that lead to cracking, settling, and premature deterioration aren't part of how we work. We know that concrete that fails costs you far more in the long run.

A Clean Site, Every Time

When we're done, we clean up. Your property is left in order and ready for whatever comes next, whether that's another trade, landscaping, or your family moving back in.

Guiding You to the Best Solution

If something isn't the right call for your project, we'll provide the insights you need to make the right decision. We'd rather have an honest conversation up front than leave you with a result that doesn't serve you well. Our straightforward communication is something our clients consistently count on.

Safety You Can Expect

Every Pittman Concrete job site is fully insured and managed in accordance with industry-leading safety standards.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Residential Concrete Services

Timeline depends on the scope and complexity of your project. A straightforward garage pad or driveway replacement can often be completed in less time than larger projects involving multiple concrete elements, engineered retaining walls, or complex grading. During your quoting process, we'll walk you through a realistic timeline for your project so you know what to expect before work begins.

Concrete needs enough time to cure before it can handle foot traffic, vehicles, or heavy loads. Generally, you can walk on new concrete within 24–48 hours, while vehicle traffic should be held off for at least 7 days. Full strength is typically reached around the 28-day mark. We'll give you clear guidance so your concrete cures properly and lasts.

Calgary's freeze-thaw cycles are hard on concrete that hasn't been properly installed. When water penetrates low-quality or poorly poured concrete and freezes, it expands and causes cracking, spalling, and deterioration over time. Proper mix ratios, adequate thickness, and the right finishing techniques are what protect your concrete through Calgary winters. These are all factors we keep in mind and deliver on.

In most cases, an exact match to existing concrete isn't possible due to weathering and aging. However, we work with homeowners to find finishes and textures that coordinate well with what's already there, whether that's a complementary exposed aggregate, a matching broom finish, or a decorative option that ties the space together. The goal is a result that looks considered, not patched.

Permit requirements in Calgary depend on the type and scope of your project. Retaining walls above a certain height and work that affects drainage or grade typically require a permit, while standard driveways and patios often do not. We're familiar with Calgary's residential requirements and will advise you on what's needed for your specific project before work begins.
